Establishment and Very First Years

The roots of YAR Group (Yüksel Ahmet Raşit Group) which is one of the biggest family-run businesses in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus go back more than 100 years ago.

Established in Pafhos, one of 5 towns in Cyprus by Late Ahmet Raşit in 1907, the company was mainly involved in farming and trade.

Late Mustafa Ahmet Raşit who is the most important participant in incorporating the establishment, is the son of Late Ahmet Raşit and the father of Yüksel Ahmet Raşit who is the current YAR Group Board Director.

During its existence for more than 100 years, Yüksel Ahmet Raşit Group passed through world wars, economical crisis, political depressions, but even in those turbulent days, the company undersigned big successes and continued its activities and development.

3 sons of Late Mustafa Ahmet Raşit, Kazım, Raşit and Yüksel, put Mustafa Ahmet Raşit Company in a new form and re-structured it again in 1982. Yüksel Ahmet Raşit, one of three mentioned brothers activated his own company, Yüksel Ahmet Raşit Group, during this period.

Now as a distributor of more than 300 companies and ten thousands of products from all around the world, the group was renamed as YAR Group in its 100th anniversary of its establishment. As in its more than 100 years, YAR Group will continue to aim also in its future to be a different enterprise with the motto of ‘The company with a smile on its face’.

Yüksel Ahmet Raşit In Short

Yüksel Ahmet Raşit, the current Board Director of family-run YAR Group, graduated Business Administration Department of the American University Of Beirut in 1959.

Yüksel Ahmet Raşit is married and he has three sons and a daughter.
